West Ham United are reportedly ready to battle Liverpool in a bid to land Russia international Denis Cheryshev this summer, according to the Sunday Express.

The Premier League side, who currently sit fifth in the English top-flight standings following their 3-0 win over West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon, are ready to offer the Real Madrid winger a way out of the Bernabeu once the current 2015/16 campaign has concluded.

The 25-year-old, who has nine international caps for his country and could feature for Russia against England at Euro 2016 later this year in France, has scored three goals in seven appearances whilst on loan at La Liga rivals Valencia most recently.

Cheryshev, who is surplus to requirements under new Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, is thought to be valued at around the £15m mark.

The report suggests that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is keen on beating the Reds to the Russian’s services this summer, especially with fellow forwards Emmanuel Emenike and Victor Moses’ loan spells set to expire at the end of this term.
