West Ham United are reportedly lining up Troy Deeney as their number one transfer target ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window, according to the Mirror.
The Premier League side, who currently hover one point above the English top-flight standings after their opening 11 league games, are understood to be weighing up a shock move for the Watford forward in the new year period.
The 28-year-old, who began his professional career at League One side Walsall, has scored three goals and provided two assists in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Hornets so far this season.
Deeney, who is contracted at Vicarage Road until 2021, is wanted by the Hammers as boss Slaven Bilic seeks to solve his striking issues.
West Ham have scored just 11 times in the Premier League so far this campaign, only Middlesbrough, Hull City, Swansea City and Sunderland have netted less times than the London Stadium outfit.
