West Ham United have been linked with a sensational summer swoop for England international Jack Wilshere, according to the Brentwood Gazette.
The Premier League club, who visit Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon to take on Manchester United in their FA Cup quarter-final clash, are interested in recruiting the injury-hit Arsenal midfielder as they move into their Olympic Stadium at the end of the current 2015-16 campaign.
The 24-year-old, who has 28 international caps for the Three Lions and faces a race against time to be fit for the 2016 UEFA European Championships in France later this year if he were to be selected by national team coach Roy Hodgson, has failed to feature at all for the Gunners so far this season due to injury.
Wilshere, who hasn’t played for Arsenal since last season’s FA Cup final triumph over Aston Villa back in May, is likely to return to full fitness by next month after initially breaking his fibula during pre-season in August, before requiring leg surgery the following month.
The report suggests that Wilshere is valued at around £20m.
