Dimitri Payet = Summer signing sensation. Only one winner in West Ham’s current crop of stars at the moment. Having already beaten the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and now Chelsea at the weekend; Slaven Bilic’s side know no boundaries as the Hammers continue to knock their way through the 2015-16 campaign in devastating fashion. One key catalyst however of United’s success comes down to Payet’s crucial influence in the centre of the park. The 28-year-old, who arrived at Upton Park from Marseille over the summer in a deal worth more than a reported £10m, has been involved in over a third of the club’s 22 goals scored already this term. In his debut term in English football; the France international has scored five and assisted three goals for West Ham, helping the club currently sit third in the standings, just two points behind joint-leaders Manchester City and Arsenal. Throughout the Hammers’ opening ten league fixtures; Payet has been involved in the goalscoring process (scoring or assistant) seven times. Perhaps his best highlight so far was his majestic brace against Newcastle United last month at Upton Park. But rest assured; there will be plenty more memorable moments to come from this midfield gem during the remainder of the campaign.
