West Ham’s Christmas crackers

Aaron Cresswell vs Leicester (April 17)

Leicester’s home game against West Ham was seen as one of their toughest in their run-in towards the Premier League title, and so it proved.

Jamie Vardy put the Foxes ahead but was later sent off, and Andy Carroll equalised for Bilic’s side six minutes from time as the Hammers looked set to take at least a point back home to Upton Park.

However, they went ahead four minutes from time through an unlikely source, and what a strike it was.

Michail Antonio did brilliantly down the right to dig out a cross, which was met by a defensive header from Danny Simpson.

However, the ball landed at the feet of Aaron Cresswell, who touched it down with his chest before firing home a stunning volley past Kasper Schmeichel.

It was a sensational strike which, at that stage, looked set to derail Leicester’s march towards the title, although they did rescue a point from the occasion when Leonardo Ulloa netted a late penalty.
