Joe Cole made the move across London from West Ham to Chelsea in 2003, and cost the Blues and their new owner Roman Abramovich just £6.6 million.

And the Blues certainly got their money’s worth and more from Cole’s contributions, who went on to appear 281 times and score 40 goals before moving to Liverpool in 2010.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, Cole won three Premier League titles and three FA Cups, as well as becoming a regular in the England squad, playing 56 times for his country before his last cap against Germany in the 2010 World Cup.

The 35-year-old has since been at West Ham, Lille, Aston Villa, and Coventry, before signing for North American Soccer League side Tampa Bay Rowdies in May of this year.
