After a terrible start to the Premier League season, Chelsea’s revival coincided with Guus Hiddink’s appointment in December – their form after the sacking of Jose Mourinho has dramatically improved moving them into the top half of the table.

Incredibly, the English top flight holders ended 2015 lying in 14th position, just three points above the relegation zone, but they have since moved up to 10th in the table, although they are going to end the campaign trophy-less.

However, if the season started on January 1, the Blues would be in a Champions League spot, and they only suffered their first defeat in the league in 2016 against Swansea last weekend – the west London outfit will need to win all of their remaining six matches if they are to have any chance of qualifying for Europe.
