Born, bred and nurtured in Watford; Sean Murray is Watford’s longest-serving player having also graduated through the Premier League side’s youth academy ranks.

However the 22-year-old, who is a former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, has failed to make a first-team appearance for the Hornets so far this season – in fact, his last outing for Watford came in the 3-0 FA Cup third round defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge back in January 2015.

Murray; who joined the club’s youth academy from the age of nine back in 2002 and signed his first professional contract at Vicarage Road in July 2010, has been featuring on loan at League One leaders Wigan Athletic this campaign, scoring one goal in eight appearances for the Latics before his loan spell was cut short in mid-December.

Despite being with the Hornets almost 14 years; the central midfielder has failed to even make the bench in current boss Quique Sanchez Flores’ matchday squads this term following their promotion from the Championship last May.
