Wolves and Burton eye loan swoop for Premier League starlet

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burton Albion reportedly lead the chase to sign Premier League striker Ivan Toney.

The respective Championship and League One clubs are interested in taking the Newcastle United youngster on loan following his impressive performances for the top-flight’s Under-21 side.

The 19-year-old, who only arrived at St James’ Park from League Two outfit Northampton Town back in August, has scored five and assisted three goals in eight development games for the Magpies so far this season.

However; when it comes to first-team action at Newcastle this term, Toney has played just 36 minutes of senior football under head coach Steve McClaren, making substitute appearances in the League Cup (2) and Premier League.
