Wolves and Everton both hold an interest in signing Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, according to reports.

After winning the Golden Boot with Colombia at the 2014 World Cup, the playmaker made a big money move to Los Blancos.

However, the now 28-year-old has failed to hit the heights since his switch from AS Monaco to Spain.

Rodriguez spent the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons on loan at Bayern Munich but since returning to the Bernabeu he’s made just 13 appearances this term.

This, according to Defensa Central, has got the South American searching for a summer exit which has alerted both Wolves and Everton.

Ancelotti wants to take Everton to the next level.

It’s claimed the Premier League duo are monitoring Rodriguez’s situation but that they will not pay Real’s £44.2million asking price.

As the Colombian is represented by Jorge Mendes, Wolves may feel they are favourites due to their previous dealings with the Portuguese agent.

Overall Rodriguez has played 124 matches for Real Madrid in which he has scored 37 goals.
