Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly expected to complete the loan signing of defender Mike Williamson.
The Championship side, who currently sit 14th in the table after three straight league defeats, are poised to snap up the Newcastle United centre-half on a one-month loan later on Thursday.
The 31-year-old, who arrived at St James’ Park from Portsmouth back in 2010, has been restricted to just two appearances for the Magpies this season, both coming in the League Cup.
Williamson has slipped down the pecking order ever since the managerial appointment of Steve McClaren earlier this summer and has personally asked for a loan spell away from the club.
The cdefender has made 150 league appearances for Newcastle, with his one goal coming against Crystal Palace.
