Despite having offloaded one of their previous highest earners in Lionel Messi, Barcelona’s financial situation is so dire that they must sell more first team players before the window shuts in less than a fortnight.

The Catalan giant’s economic situation was so bad that, despite both Messi and the club wanting to put pen to paper on an agreed deal, it was not allowed and the Argentina has since moved to France to join Paris-Saint Germain.

Now, a number of the Spanish side’s other stars are being linked with Camp Nou exits.

Antoine Griezmann, Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele and Martin Braithwaite have all been heavily touted to leave the club this summer, as the club looks not only to raise funds from transfer fees but also to reduce its wage bill.

Now, it has emerged that another Barca player could be on his way out, with the club reportedly setting their asking price.

According to ARA, Barcelona have set their asking price for 18-year-old Ilaix Moriba at around £12.8 million.

Wolves have been heavily linked with the player in recent days, and the relatively affordable asking price is likely to do little to deter any potential interest.

Moriba made 14 appearances in La Liga last season and also featured in the Champions League.

While Wolves are not the only club to have made an approach for the midfielder, it is understood that none of the proposals so far have been higher than £4.3 million.

This may be due to the fact that clubs are aware of Barca’s financial struggles and desire to sell, and are therefore looking to secure the player for a cheap price.

Wolves are thought to be in the market for a midfielder amid ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Ruben Neves.

Former Barcelona academy coach Oscar Hernandez is quoted as saying that Moriba is a ‘complete player’, and he could therefore prove to be a promising prospect and an ideal replacement for Neves should the Portuguese depart.
