England entertain Scotland in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Friday as the oldest rivalry in world football gets set for its 113th instalment at Wembley.
Gareth Southgate, currently the interim boss of the Three Lions, will take his charge of his third game following the departure of Sam Allardyce back in September, and will look to build on a win and a draw in his first two matches.
The former Middlesbrough manager will be looking to Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling to continue his fine form this season, in which time he has netted four goals for his club, against the struggling Scots on Friday.
However, things aren’t going as well for Scotland manager Gordon Strachan.
The 59-year-old is under pressure after a disappointing start to their qualifying campaign, which has seen them pick up just four points from their three games, and saw them lose 3-0 in Slovakia last time out.
However, Strachan will be hoping that midfielder Robert Snodgrass can transfer his excellent recent form for Hull into the match on Friday.
So, with these two key players set to go head-to-head on Friday, here is how Sterling and Snodgrass match up in the Premier League so far this season…
