England host Scotland at Wembley on Friday night as they look to get back to winning ways in their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Gareth Southgate’s side could only draw 0-0 in Slovenia last time out and, although it kept them top of the group, the Three Lions will be hoping that they can put daylight between themselves and the chasing pack.

Interim boss Southgate, who will take charge of his third game as caretaker, will be looking to captain Wayne Rooney to help lead his side to victory over Gordon Strachan’s men, in what will be the 113th meeting between the two sides.

For Scotland, it’s been a testing few months.

Strachen’s side were comfortably beaten 3-0 in Slovakia in their last group game, leaving them with just four points from their first three matches. As a result, they could really do with a result at Wembley, and will look to Fulham forward Chris Martin to get the goals necessary for the three points.

So, with these two key players set to go head-to-head on Friday, here is how Rooney and Martin match up in the league so far this season…
