Wales’ first World Cup finals in 64 years ended rather swiftly as they were beaten 3-0 by England on Tuesday evening.

Rob Page’s side needed to beat their rivals to have any chance of qualifying for the last 16 of the competition, but a brace from Marcus Rashford and a Phil Foden strike ensured that Wales’ tournament came to an end.

After the final whistle in Doha, the Wales players thanked the fans and joined in with a rendition of their national anthem, with Gareth Bale at the forefront of the moment.

Now, talk has turned to the player’s future, at both international and club level.

The 33-year-old said shortly after the game that he would continue playing for his country ‘if he was needed’, but his future at club level remains uncertain.

Bale joined MLS side Los Angeles FC over the summer, but new reports suggest that he could be on his way out of the club already.

According to The Mirror, Bale’s contract with the US side, that is set to run until next summer, has a clause included that would allow him to leave in January.

Bale has made 13 appearances for LAFC since joining the club in July

The report claims that the Welshman may leave LAFC before the MLS season returns in February.

Having joined in July, Bale made only 13 appearances for his new side , starting just two games.

He is contracted to the club for another season, but he has also been linked with moves to a number of clubs, including Cardiff City and several other MLS outfits.

Sources close to the player reportedly believe that he will stay put in the US for another season, as he looks to stay involved in the Wales setup.

In total, Bale has scored 40 goals in 111 appearances for his country, tallies that make him both their top scorer and most capped player.

Prior to joining LAFC, Bale spent nine years in Spain with Real Madrid, during which time he won 19 trophies including five Champions Leagues.

He has also enjoyed success already with LAFC, scoring in the MLS Cup final as the California outfit emerged victorious.
