FC Bayern Munich are reportedly fearful of losing Germany international Mario Gotze to Liverpool this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League side, who currently sit ninth in the standings following their 3-2 defeat to the hands of Southampton last Sunday at St Mary’s Stadium, have been linked with a move for the World Cup winning midfielder once the 2015-16 campaign has concluded.

The 23-year-old, who has 47 international caps for his country and is expected to feature for Germany at Euro 2016 in France later this year, has scored four goals and provided two assists in just 12 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga leaders so far this season.

Gotze, who scored the winning goal against Argentina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup final in Brazil, is reportedly considering pushing for a reunion with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, for who he played under at German rivals Borussia Dortmund before agreeing a move to Bayern in 2013.
