Arsenal have confirmed that youngster Gedion Zelalem has completed his loan move to Dutch side VVV Venlo until the end of the season.

The midfielder has featured just once as a sub for the Gunners this season in the EFL Cup and is desperate for first-team football.

The United States under-23 has been a product of Arsenal’s highly appraised academy and has been labelled as a future first team regular at the club.

Zelalem spent last season on loan at Rangers, making 21 league appearances for the Scottish side as they completed their journey back to the Scottish Premiership.

The playmakers’ first team chances at The Emirates have been few and far between and it appears he no longer has the patience to continue in the youth set up.

Zelalem’s current deal is due to expire at the end of this campaign and he could leave the Gunners permanently – though it is suggested that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants the youngster to stay in North London.
