Would there be any better man than Allardyce to physically clear the wreckage that is currently the England national team?

I don’t think many would argue that there is and he evidently has some kind of magic touch when it comes to English mediocrity.

After guiding West Ham United back to the Premier League at the first attempt and laying the foundations for Slaven Bilic, he was then able to keep Sunderland in the top-flight after they had been in the relegation zone for 237 days last season.

Allardyce has made his interest in the job known and his appointment certainly would be a different kind of selection by the FA.

The only question surrounding his selection to this role would be whether the FA considered this move as a step forwards, or a step backwards for the national side.
