2 players that should have left Liverpool in January

Spanish international Alberto Moreno lost his place at left-back to James Milner earlier in the season, and hasn’t reclaimed it since.

The 24-year-old had a nightmare in the 4-3 win at Arsenal on the opening day of the season after making several errors, one of which was giving away a penalty, and the other was allowing Theo Walcott room to score.

Since that game, Moreno has made just one Premier League start, with six other substitute appearances suggesting that he’s not in Klopp’s plans for at least the rest of the season.

It’s clear that, at present, Moreno isn’t good enough to be the solid and dependable left-back Liverpool need, so it was slightly surprising not to see him leave Anfield last month, be it on loan or permanently.

He’s not going to dispose Milner of the left-back spot, so time away from the club may have been beneficial.
