2 players West Ham must start in every game if they are to clinch a European spot

Andy Carroll

West Ham were seriously struggling for goals earlier on this season, but Andy Carroll’s return from injury has seen their points tally and goal-count significantly improve.

Prior to his return against Arsenal on December 3, Bilic’s men had managed just 14 Premier League goals, and were languishing in 16th place in the division, just a point clear of danger.

However, just two months later, the Hammers have scored 32 league goals and are ninth in the table, with Carroll having scored six and had a massive influence on the side.

The England international gives them an excellent option upfront such is his unrivalled aerial prowess, and with the likes of Michail Antonio, Manuel Lanzini, and Robert Snodgrass all behind him, Carroll is going to get ample chances to add to his tally over the coming weeks.

Keeping him fit will be the toughest test for Bilic, but if the striker can stay injury-free between now and May, West Ham could get themselves into European contention.
