3 forwards Celtic should look to sign in January

A strange one this, but there has been speculation in the last few days that Shane Long could leave Southampton in January.

Premier League strugglers Sunderland are eyeing up a move for the forward, who has fallen down the pecking order at St Mary’s due to the great form of Charlie Austin and Nathan Redmond.

Although Long started the season in the side, and would be the next in line should either of the above two get injured or suspended, he may want more regular first team football, which Rodgers may be able to provide him at Celtic.

The returning Jay Rodriguez could further push the Irish international down the order and, if he is looking to move away in January, Rodgers should seriously consider a move for the 29-year-old.
