This could be a transfer that rumbles on for some time but, with increased interest in Antoine Griezmann in recent weeks, United may need to act fast to get their man.

The La Liga Player of the Year is in demand after parting company with his agent in September, alongside the fact that Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone’s future at the club remains in doubt.

This all comes after one of Griezmann’s best seasons in Spain.

The Frenchman scored 32 times in 54 appearances for the Spanish side last season, and then helped inspire his country to the final of the European Championships in the summer by netting six times in the competition.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race in the last few days, which could force Mourinho to move for the forward in January.
