3 huge EFL games to keep an eye on over the coming days

Bristol City vs Fulham

Wednesday night sees a clash in the Championship which could have repercussions at both ends of the table.

Lee Johnson’s Bristol City are just a place and two points above the bottom three after a dreadful run which has seen them lose 12 of their last 16 league games, and thus sink from sixth on October 29 to fourth bottom.

However, there have been signs of improvement in recent games, given that they have won one and drawn two of their last four, and were slightly unfortunate to go down 2-1 at Leeds last time out.

Nonetheless, they’ll have their work cut out against Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham, who return to league action after a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Cottagers are eighth in the Championship and nine points behind the play-off places, but they do have a game in hand on sixth place Sheffield Wednesday, and two on Leeds in fifth.

And, having won three of their last four league matches, they’ll be confident of getting another three points at Ashton Gate on Wednesday.

Clearly, it’s a match both sides really need to win in a bid to meet their expected aims come the end of the season.
