3 huge EFL games to keep an eye on this weekend

Plymouth Argyle vs Exeter City

There’s a Devon derby in League Two this weekend as second place Plymouth Argyle entertain fourth place Exeter City at Home Park.

Derek Adams’ Pilgrims, who have spent the week in Spain to prepare for Saturday’s clash, have won four of their last six league games, including their most recent one – a 1-0 success at Cambridge United on Saturday.

However, they will come up against the form team in England on Saturday when Paul Tisdale’s Exeter visit, as the Grecians have gone on a quite extraordinary run which has taken them from bottom of the league on November 19 to fourth in less than three months.

That’s because since their 3-2 defeat to Carlisle, Tisdale’s men have won ten of their 12 League Two matches, and drawn the other two to take a sensational 32 points out of 36, and propel themselves into promotion contention.

No side have picked up more points than Exeter away from home this season (34), while Plymouth have lost just three times at home all season, but none of their last four.

Clearly, something will have to give on Saturday as the two teams gear up for the 105th Devon derby.
