3 huge EFL games to keep an eye on this weekend

Bury vs Swindon Town

There is a massive match at the bottom of League One at Gigg Lane on Saturday as third bottom Bury host fifth bottom Swindon Town.

Chris Brass’ Bury have won just seven of their 30 league matches this season, with a 12-match losing streak between October and December the chief reason for their struggles this term.

Their 5-1 victory over Peterborough United on January 14 was their first in the league since September 27, but two draws and a defeat since then have stemmed any momentum the Shakers gained from that success.

However, Swindon are faring little better in League One this season, sitting just a point and a place above the bottom three after just one win in their last ten league matches.

Luke Williams’ side, like Bury, have tasted success just seven times this term, and three successive defeats since their 2-1 victory at Bolton has put them on the cusps of the bottom four.

The third worst home record in League One takes on the fourth worst away record this weekend in a match which could determine both teams’ seasons.
