After Steve Bruce’s surprise departure, Mike Phelan took over as the Tigers boss and led them to two victories in his first two games in charge – 2-1 win over Leicester City and a 2-0 win away to Swansea City.

Unfortunately for Phelan and Hull, it all went downhill from there. They then went on to go nine games without a win, including 5-1 and 6-1 losses to Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth respectively.

Their third win of the season came against Southampton on November 6 and they haven’t won a league game since.

The Tigers now sit second-bottom of the table having accumulated 13 points from a possible 57.

Combining that statistic with their minus 25 goal difference, the worst in the league, Phelan is favourite for the sack and Hull are edging towards an instant return to the Championship.
