Tough to beat

Tottenham have the best defensive record in the Premier League thus far, building on last season’s joint-best in the division.

The back four of Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Toby Alderweireld, and Jan Vertonghen were a chief reason why Spurs went close in the title race last season and, even with an injury to Alderweireld this time around, they still look remarkably tough to break down.

They have only lost once thus far in the league, and that was to an inspired Chelsea a fortnight ago, and with United’s inability to both see out games and kill them off, you’d have to fancy Spurs getting something at Old Trafford.

And with Harry Kane returning to his best and Christian Eriksen beginning to star, their defensive solidarity could lay the foundations for three points on Sunday.
