Manchester United are ready to splash out a whopping £60m this summer in order to sign Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Independent.
The 13-time Premier League champions, who defeated League One side Shrewsbury Town 3-0 in the FA Cup fifth-round on Monday night, have made the Borussia Dortmund striker their number one summer transfer target.
The 26-year-old, who has 47 international caps for his country, has scored a remarkable 31 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.
Aubameyang, who joined Dortmund from French club Saint Etienne back in 2013, is wanted by Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford ahead of the 2016/17 campaign to sharpen up the club’s attacking ranks.
The Red Devils are struggling to qualify for next term’s UEFA Champions League, with United currently sitting fifth in the Premier League, six points behind rivals Manchester City in fourth spot, with just 12 league games remaining.
