Reports from Ecuadorian newspaper El Universo reveal Arsenal ‘an option’ for Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia according to his father and agent.

A surprising story from South America as Valenica’s father and agent spoke at length about the right-back’s future as he sets to depart Old Trafford this summer.

The 33-year-old has enjoyed 10 seasons at Man United, making 338 appearances and scoring 25 goals for the Red Devils.

In his time at the club, Valencia won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cup trophies and a Europa League title.

Unai Emery is reportedly keen on recruiting Antonio Valencia.

This will be Valencia’s last season in Manchester as his father and agent Luis Valencia reveals his options.

He told Ecuadorian newspaper El Universo: “He definitely will not continue in Manchester.

“He wants a change in the air and the club is not going to renew him either. Like everything in life, everything comes to an end.”

Luis also revealed his son’s potential next destination, saying: “Arsenal, West Ham, Inter Milan and one club from China are options, but in football everything is changing.

“He wants to choose the best option, but above all he wants to sign a contract for two years.

“Not for the money, but for peace and hopefully, he told me, be hired by a team that fights for important things.”

Certainly revealing words from Luis Valencia, of course a lot will twist and turn between now and August, but it’s become pretty clear the right back will not be playing his football at Old Trafford next season.
