Arsenal are reportedly eyeing an ambitious £30m deal for England international forward Daniel Sturridge this summer, according to the Mirror.
The Premier League side; who currently sit third in the English top-flight standings and visit fourth-placed Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon, are interested in acquiring the Liverpool striker’s services once the 2015/16 campaign has concluded, should he wish to leave Anfield.
The 26-year-old, who has 17 international caps for the Three Lions and is expected to feature for England at Euro 2016 later this year in France, has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances in all competitions for the Reds so far this season.
Sturridge, who scored in Liverpool’s 3-0 midweek win over Villarreal to send Jurgen Klopp’s side through to the 2016 Europa League final in Basel, has been a long-term admirer for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
Despite scoring a goal every other game for Klopp’s Reds this term, the report suggests that the Englishman’s future at Anfield is still uncertain given his continual injury problems.
