Arsenal have reportedly added Kenya international Victor Wanyam to their summer shopping list, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League side, who currently sit third in the English top-flight standings, but 11 points adrift of surprise league leaders Leicester City with one game in hand, are thought to be pondering a move for the Southampton midfielder once the 2015-16 campaign has concluded.

The 24-year-old, who has 32 international caps for his country, has provided one assist in 28 appearances in all competitions for Ronald Koeman’s Saints so far this season.

Wanyama, who has been sent off three times in the Premier League already this term, arrived at St Mary’s Stadium from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic back in July 2013 for a reported fee of £12.5m.

With the Gunners set to lose Mikel Arteta, Tomis Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini this summer, boss Arsene Wenger is keen on luring long-term target Wanyama to the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season.
