Arsene Wenger is looking to end a 12-year wait for the Premier League title by leading his Arsenal side to the summit this season.

The Gunners haven’t won the title since Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’ stormed to the top in 2004, and they haven’t really looked like dethroning the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea since then.

However, based on what we’ve seen so far, that could change this season.

Wenger’s men are fourth in the table having won seven of their opening 12 league games, with a 4-3 defeat at home to Liverpool on the opening weekend the only blemish on an otherwise excellent start.

However, it’s their 17-match unbeaten run in all competitions which will excite Arsenal fans as the season progresses, with it abundantly clear that this Gunners side is more difficult to beat than many that have gone before them.

They have already qualified for the Champions League, and know a positive result against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday will put them in a strong position to qualify as group winners.

A 1-1 draw at Manchester United on Saturday turned out to be a point gained given Arsenal’s indifferent performance, and it’s those battling and resilient qualities which could see the Gunners go all the way this season.

Nonetheless, some still feel that they need reinforcements if they are to get to the summit, so here are TWO La Liga players Wenger should try and snap up in January…
