This year could be the year that Arsene Wenger finally gets his hands back on the Premier League trophy, unless the ‘Tinkerman’ has anything to do with it. With his front line firing, and the likes of Mesut Ozil producing what we all expected from him, it is now vital that the defensive side of their game stays strong in order to maintain a serious title challenge.

The signing of Petr Cech in the summer was a great piece of business for the Gunners and has brought a level of calmness into a previously shaky back-four, while revelations like Hector Bellerin have also helped in further strengthening that area.

However, the injury to Francis Coquelin was a huge blow as he has been as important as the forwards since breaking into the side around 12 months ago. And with the title in sight, surely Arsenal will make a move to bring in midfield cover? Sporting CP’s 23-year-old star William Carvalho could be the solution as he’s technically fantastic on the ball, experienced for his age and disciplined enough to shield the back-four. He can also play in the Champions League after the Portuguese club failed to qualify through the play-offs.
