England international Jack Wilshere has reportedly emerged as one of Pep Guardiola’s top transfer targets at Manchester City this summer, according to The Sun.
The Premier League club, who pipped rivals Manchester United to fourth spot and subsequent qualification for the UEFA Champions League later this year in the English top-flight standings, have been linked with a move for the Arsenal midfielder.
The 24-year-old, who has 31 international caps for the Three Lions and is included in England’s 23-man squad for EURO 2016 later this month, made just three league appearances for the Gunners last season following an injury-hit campaign.
Wilshere, who has two years remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, is wanted by new Citizens boss Guardiola to boost the number of English players at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2016/17 term.
Manchester City have already captured fellow midfielder Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund in a £20m deal earlier this week.
