Career in Pictures: Dimitar Berbatov

Saint to Sinner

After opening the scoring against Southampton on Boxing Day 2012 after just eight minutes, Berbatov took off his shirt to reveal the words “keep calm and pass me the ball” written on his vest.

His celebration at Craven Cottage saw the Bulgarian booked by referee Phil Dowd, before manager Martin Jol admitted it was “not the brightest thing to do”.

Berbatov left Fulham for Monaco on transfer deadline day in January 2014, after 20 goals in 50 games for The Cottagers.
