Career in pictures – Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler

First trophy (League Cup 1995)

Fowler then embarked on a stunning season at Anfield in 1994/95, scoring 25 goals in just 42 league games to help Roy Evans’ men to fourth place in the Premiership.

And 1995 saw the 42-year-old pick up his first major trophy at the club, as he helped the Reds clinch the League Cup with a 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers in the final at Wembley.

Steve McManaman netted a brace to see off the Trotters that day, but Fowler’s four goals in eight matches, including both in the 2-0 aggregate win over Crystal Palace in the semi-finals, were a key reason for their success.

Here, Fowler can be seen celebrating alongside teammate Jamie Redknapp following their League Cup triumph.
