Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the chase to sign Spain international star Isco, according to The Sun.

The Premier League rivals, who currently sit fifth and fourth in the English top-flight standings respectively, have both been linked with a summer swoop for the Real Madrid midfielder.

The 25-year-old, who has 27 international caps for his country, has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the defending La Liga champions so far this season.

Isco, who arrived at the Bernabeu back in June 2013 following his arrival from fellow Spanish side Malaga, has netted 40 goals in 231 games overall for Madrid.

After netting a hat-trick for Spain during his country’s 6-1 thrashing of Argentina in an international friendly on Tuesday night, the attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a transfer away from the Bernabeu, after admitting his frustration of not starting enough games under Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane this term.

Premier League champions-elect Manchester City were initially speculated to be in for the Spaniard for a club-record £75m, but the report now adds rivals Chelsea and Spurs will fight for Isco’s signature too, and are hopeful of securing his services for a knockdown price of £40m.
