Chelsea are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Gabon international superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League champions, who completed the £40m signing of AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on Saturday, have been heavily linked with another mega-money move this summer, this time for the Borussia Dortmund striker.

The 28-year-old, who has 55 international caps for his country, scored a remarkable 40 goals and provided five assists in 46 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.

Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang, who joined the German side from French outfit Saint-Etienne back in July 2013, has netted 120 times in 189 games overall for Dortmund.

The report suggests Blues boss Antonio Conte is closing in on a sensational £65m swoop for the Gabonese hitman, who would become the league champions’ fourth summer signing, following the arrivals of Bakayoko, defender Antonio Rudiger and goalkeeper Willy Caballero at Stamford Bridge already.

Chelsea missed out on re-signing fellow forward Romelu Lukaku from Everton to Manchester United earlier this summer.
