Chelsea striker, Patrick Bamford has joined Premier League rivals Burnley on a season-long loan with just over a day to go in the transfer window, the club have confirmed.

The 22-year-old’s deal to join the Clarets for the season marks his sixth loan deal away from Stamford Bridge, without a single minute of first team action under his belt for the Blues.

The striker made 13  Premier League appearances across spells with Norwich and Crystal Palace last season, but failed to score for either side.

The England U21 international did, however, have a successful spell with Middlesbrough in the prior season bagging 17 goals in 38 Chamionship appearances, winning the Championship Player of the Year award for his efforts which earned Boro a space in the play-offs.

The former Nottingham Forest man could make his debut for Sean Dyche’s side, who succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Bamford’s parent club at the weekend, after the international break when they host Hull City.
