Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing France international N’Golo Kante this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The defending Premier League champions, who were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League last week by Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, have been thoroughly impressed by the form of Leicester City’s summer signing so far this 2015-16 campaign.

The 24-year-old, who has recently just been called up to the France squad alongside West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet for their upcoming friendly matches, has scored one goal and provided three assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes this season.

Kante, who joined Claudio Ranieri’s side back in August 2015 from French outfit Caen for a reported £5.6m, has been compared to former Blues midfielder Claude Makelele.

The report suggests that Chelsea are determined to make the Leicester star Antonio Conte’s first addition at Stamford Bridge this summer as the Premier League giants seek to appoint the Italy coach as their new manager after Euro 2016.
