Name: Diego Costa
Position: Striker

The Blues’ star striker continues to dazzle under the guidance of interim boss Guus Hiddink – Diego Costa is Chelsea’s February Player of the Month after another fruitful spell in front of goal for the defending Premier League champions.

The 27-year-old, who has 10 international caps for Spain and is expected to feature for his country at the 2016 UEFA European Championships this summer in France, is the club’s outright top goalscorer in the English top-flight with 11 strikes – seven ahead of midfielder Willian in second.

Costa, who arrived at Stamford Bridge back in July 2014 from La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid for a reported £32m, netted his tenth and eleventh league goals of the campaign last month for Chelsea.

Firstly the Spaniard netted the hosts’ last-gasp equaliser at home to Manchester United to salvage a late point against Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils. Secondly he opened the floodgates during the Blues’ 5-1 rout over Newcastle United in his next outing, before setting up his team’s third strike by assisting Willian.

February’s goalscoring exploits have seemingly followed straight into March’s stride as well; with the Brazilian-born forward scoring the eventual winner at Norwich City on Tuesday night (1-2).
