Mourinho could tempt these 2 Tottenham players to Man United in January

Mousa Dembele could be exactly the sort of player Manchester United need in the middle of the park.

It was noticeable, certainly at times last season, how much Tottenham missed Dembele’s presence in the midfield when he wasn’t playing, as he can do everything you want from a defensive midfielder.

He is calm on the ball and when under pressure, but also has an eye for a pass and can launch attacks. He is strong in the tackle and reads the game incredibly well, but he also keeps things simple, much in the same way Michael Carrick does and has done for United over so many years.

Marouane Fellaini is probably not the answer and, although Ander Herrera has done well this season, there needs to be another reliable option alongside him in Mourinho’s formation.

Dembele could be that man and, given Victor Wanyama has come in and performed brilliantly for Spurs, there’s an argument that Dembele is no longer the first choice, and his omission from the Champions League starting elevens earlier this season could further demonstrate that.

Mourinho should seriously consider a move for the Belgium international this month.
