Still without a win in 2016; Crystal Palace are slipping perilously closer towards the Premier League’s relegation battle with only nine games remaining.

However it seems the Eagles’ trouble’s has paid dividends in terms of striker Connor Wickham’s form in front of goal, with the ex-England Under-21 international bagging four goals in his last two league outings – netting braces against West Brom and former club Sunderland respectively.

The 22-year-old, who arrived at Selhurst Park from the Black Cats in a deal worth up to £9m last summer, is the club’s joint top goalscorer in the league this campaign – joining defender Scott Dann and midfielder Yohan Cabaye on five strikes.

But given Wickham’s latest hot streak; despite suffering a thigh injury against Sunderland last week, the former Ipswich Town hitman could easily execute an end of season goalscoring spree to snatch the club’s award of top goalscorer come May.
