Love it or hate it;, most hate it, the international break is nearly over and with the return of the Premier League tantalisingly close, here are five things on matters to do with Burnley Football Club.

Steven Defour

The game against Hull City is one where I expect the Belgian international to show why he was once coveted by Sir Alex Ferguson. He has had a steady start, playing his part against Liverpool setting up Andre Gray’s goal, yet did nothing against Chelsea (nobody did).

The former FC Porto man has been substituted on exactly 55 minutes in both games and for a player who cost the club £7.5m and was already into his season with Anderlecht, I expect him to be fit enough to complete 90 minutes from here on in.

The former Standard Liege man is not a veteran; he is 28 years of age and physically, should be in the prime of his career. The midfielder has had a month with his new team and with is pedigree; I’m looking at him to kick on now.

Good article, as usual by Jordan.

Defour is away with Belguim, 2 weeks training with Burnley to get “Dyche fit” would have been better. Don’t expect any change in his fitness yet.
