Five things for Burnley fans to look out for during the return of the Premier League

David Jones

A word on a fantastic servant for the club who recently left in true David Jones style, under the radar back to the Championship and to Sheffield Wednesday.

I usually judge many a Burnley fan on their opinion on whether Jones was a good player or not, the perennial whipping boy on the terraces, he secured two promotions to the Premier League with Burnley and overall three in his successful career at this level.

Many forget he often played as the lone specialist midfielder at the club when Dean Marney was out injured and before Joey Barton came in to offer much needed support, a true gentleman off the pitch.

Burnley squeezed the maximum out of ‘Jonah’ and even got circa £1.8m from Wednesday as a parting gift.

Defour is away with Belguim, 2 weeks training with Burnley to get “Dyche fit” would have been better. Don’t expect any change in his fitness yet.
