Guardiola should drop these 3 Man City players against Tottenham

You could make a case for every City defender that played against Everton to deserve to be dropped, yet it could be John Stones who is actually removed from the starting line-up against Spurs.

And it wouldn’t be a big surprise.

The former Everton man had a torrid afternoon on return to Goodison Park last week, which epitomised his struggles since his £47.5 million move from Merseyside last summer.

Stones clearly has potential, but surely he needs to learn how to defend better first before he can start confidently stroking the ball around his own half, as when he gets caught out, he rarely recovers.

Guardiola could start with a back three on Saturday which might save Stones from the axe, yet it wouldn’t be at all surprising if the City boss took him out of the firing line this weekend.
