Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City go head-to-head for the second time in just four days on Wednesday night following the Citizens’ penalty shoot-out victory in the 2016 Capital One Cup final on Sunday.

The Reds, who thrashed rock-bottom Aston Villa 6-0 in their last league meeting, will be seeking revenge from their Wembley heartbreak, with Roberto Firmino the most creative Liverpool player likely to breakdown and cause City’s defence problems at Anfield.

Meanwhile visiting boss Manuel Pellegrini; whose side sit up in fourth spot, but have lost their last two league games, has revealed Raheem Sterling will start on his first return to Merseyside since last summer’s whopping £49m transfer.

With both forwards set to go head-to-head on Wednesday night, here is how Firmino and Sterling match up so far this season…
