Manchester United could reportedly offload Spain international star Juan Mata this summer, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The Premier League side, who travel to AFC Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the new 2016/17 English top-flight campaign on August 14, have been linked with possibly selling the central midfielder following the arrival of new manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford this summer.

The 28-year-old; who has 40 international caps for his country, but was not included in Spain’s squad for the 2016 European Championships in France recently,  scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists in 54 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils last season under former boss Louis van Gaal.

However the report suggests that successor Mourinho; who used to manage Mata at Chelsea before selling him to United for £37.1m back in January 2014, may decide to offload the Spaniard once more, with La Liga outfit Espanyol registering an interest in the former Valencia player’s services.
