Morecambe remain top of League Two after a 3-2 win at Accrington Stanley, after going two goals down.

Billy Kee had put the hosts 2-0 up as the striker grabbed his first strikes of the season. But second-half efforts from Kevin Ellison and a brace from Cole Stockton means the Shrimps are now two points clear after five matches.

Doncaster Rovers thrashed Yeovil Town 4-1, as Andy Williams scored a wonderful hat-trick for Donny.

The striker opened the scoring after just 34 seconds, before James Coppinger doubled their lead shortly after half-time. Ryan Hedges pulled one back for the visitors, only for Williams to score twice in the final ten minutes.

Cambridge United remain winless in the league, as they lost 3-0 at home to Luton Town. Josh Coulson netted the game’s first goal, but at the wrong of the pitch as the unlucky defender turned the ball into his net from Glen Rea’s dangerous cross. Jack Marriott added a second for the Hatters with a super curling left-footed strike from 20-yards, before Danny Hylton completed the rout.

Grimsby Town got back to winning ways as they beat Stevenage at home 5-2. Omar Bogle was the star of the show for the Mariners as he hit a hat-trick and claimed two assists as he set up Luke Summerfield and Dominic Vose in what was a sensational performance by the 23-year old.

Bogle’s third was a real touch of class as well, with the striker converting an excellent free-kick. The visitors responded twice amongst the ‘goal-fest’ at Blundell Park, through Jobi McAnuff and Fraser Franks.

Notts County ended Crawley Town’s unbeaten start to life in League Two with a 3-1 victory. Enzio Boldewijn had put the Red Devils ahead, before the Magpies equalised when James Collins put the ball into his own net. And further strikes from Adam Campbell and Jon Stead (pen) completed the scoring.

Cheltenham Town sealed their first win in the Football League since their return, as they beat Crewe Alexandra 2-0. Rob Dickie and James Dayton each netted in the first inside the opening half-an-hour, as the Robins climb to 14th.

Mansfield Town scored with a minute left to play as they won 2-1 at Leyton Orient, in a tightly contested affair. Mitchell Rose had put the Stags ahead, before Liam Kelly levelled for the O’s. Only for Matt Green, who missed a penalty earlier in the contest, hit the winner in the 89th minute.

Colchester United scored twice in the second-half to seal a 2-0 win at Wycombe Wanderers. Sammie Szmodics crossed for Chris Porter to open the scoring, before the midfielder hit a terrific 20-yard volley with just under ten minutes left to play.

Carlisle United remain unbeaten so far this season as they won 1-0 at Barnet, thanks to Jabo Ibehre’s first goal of the campaign, as the striker bundled the ball over the line, as the Bees lost for the first time.

Portsmouth are up to eighth after their 1-0 victory at Exeter City, as Pompey scored in the last five minutes. Gary Roberts was the scorer as he kept his nerve to net from the penalty spot, after it was deemed that Kal Naismith has been brought down by Pierce Sweeney.

Hartlepool United drew 2-2 at home to Newport County, despite playing over 80 minutes with only ten men. Nicky Featherstone put Pool ahead in the second minute, but less than 60 seconds later the hosts had Aristote Nsiala sent off for a deliberate handball, in which Scott Rigg scored from the resulting free-kick. Jon Parkin then put the visitors ahead, but Padraig Amond’s effort earned a valuable point for the hosts.

And finally, Plymouth Argyle narrowly defeated Blackpool 1-0, thanks to a Nauris Bulvitis strike with just under an hour played, as he met Graham Carey’s cross inside the six-yard box.
