Three or four months ago, this would not have been a shock result at all. Current Premier League champions Leicester have really struggled to defend their crown so far.

Their victory over Pep Guardiola’s City side certainly stunned a lot of people. It was the hosts’ first league win in six matches.

Man City are currently fourth in the Premier League table and have now failed to win in their last three fixtures in all competitions.

Jamie Vardy’s hat-trick adds more misery to the City defence who have been heavily criticised this campaign. This has not been helped by regular injuries to City captain Vincent Kompany and the inconsistent form of new signings John Stones and Claudio Bravo.

The Foxes were in 16th position and only two points clear of the relegation zone going into this weekend’s fixtures.

Is this the turning point for the Foxes’ this season? Will they be able to recover their poor first-half of their league campaign?

Is Pep Guardiola’s managerial legacy finally being tested?
